About Course

This course will provide you with the needed  theoretical knowledge and clinical skills required to give:

  • Optimum health care to the community
  • Be a reliable bridge between the community and the primary health care facility, in areas of health outreach, education, counseling, and social support for the wellbeing of the community.

Entry requirements

NATIONAL DIPLOMA

  1. The entry requirement into national diploma in community health is four credit level passes SSCE/WASCE/GCE ‘O’ level at not more than two sittings. These must include
  • Biology/Health science
  • One subject chosen from Chemistry, Food and Nutrition, Physics and Geography.
  • Two subject chosen from any of Economics, Account, Commerce, Agricultural Science and Social Science
  • Passes in English Language and Mathematics are compulsory
  1. Pre – ND Science and Technology Certificate recognized by NBTE
  2. National Technical Certificate (NTC) with credit passes in the four relevant subject and passes in English Language and Mathematics
  3. Teacher Grade II certificate with credit/merit passes in the relevant subject

HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA

  1. Minimum entry requirement for the ND program in Community Health
  2. National Diploma in Community Health, Environmental Health Technology and General Nursing

  • Local government service commission – primary health care unit
  • General and teaching hospitals – community health unit
  • Organizations involved in community health promotion/education services.
  • Private healthcare facility
