You’ll take courses that cover subjects in health, medical coding, business, finance, data, and technology subjects. They may include:  

  • Health care administration 
  • Medical coding
  • Medical terminology 
  • Epidemiology
  • Biostatistics 
  • Financial management in health care
  • Reimbursement system 

Entry requirements

NATIONAL DIPLOMA

Applicant with the following qualifications may be considered for admission into the National Diploma programme,

  1. A minimum of four credit passes in the relevant subjects, at not more than two (2) sittings at the SSCE, WASC, or its equivalent. the subjects must includes , mathematics, English language, biology or health science plus one subject chosen from chemistry, physics, economics/commerce, geography, English literature, I.R.K or C.R.K and Nigerian language.

 

HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA

Applicants with the following qualifications maybe considered for admission into the higher national diploma programmes in Health information management.

  1. The minimum entry requirement for the nd in health information management programme.
  2. National diploma certificate in health information management with minimum of lower credit—— 2.50.
  • Evidence of completion of one year relevant work experience in a reputable health institution.

Note: candidate with a pass (G.P.A of 2.00 – 2.49) at the ND level should have two or more years post ND cognate work experience to qualify for admission into HND programme.
